PostHeaderIcon StylesbyClaudia.com – No more hat hair

In the Florida summer sun hats are a way of life. We’re told by physicians to wear hats to protect from the dangerous rays. But sometime fashion conflicts with what’s practical and, don’t know about you but generally with myself, fashion wins out. When you wear a hat it tends to trap heat and perspiration. This then causes the hair to take form whatever bowl-like shape your hat creates. Here is a great compromise when it comes to avoiding the dreaded “hat hair” and still protect against UV.

Ok, fashionistas with medium to long hair, before throwing on the head cover prepare your hair so that when you ever-so-cool-like remove it, you’re going to look great. Begin by twisting your hair in a bun at the high point of your crown of your head. Then use an fabric elastic band to secure it. Once inside, where the sun don’t shine, remove the hat and shake out the bun!

Last, but defiantly not fashionably least, short hair ladies. With short hair your going to do something similar but in more smaller parts. Pull front sections of your hair into three or four mini bumps then use small hair pins to secure these. Then when it’s fashionable and (making this one up…melanomaie safe) drop the hat and flip and shake out the beautiful do!

PostHeaderIcon StylesbyClaudia.com – Educational DVD

As my career has grown so have those who not only stood by me, with great support, but those who saw my potential and pushed me to aim higher. This past week was what I would call a pushing week! Out of my comfort zone and any other zone for that mater I was filmed and questioned. This was done by Phil Stone of ReWiredHair.com, a former international educator for Rusk and one who has immersed himself in the film world.

Included in the film crew is friend and director of the upcoming documentary The Real Hair Truth, Joseph Kellner and Dan Cunningham. These wonderful people along with photographers, models and assistants help to put my story of how I came to this great country and how Ive grown in this industry on film.

If great men have said of themselves that “No man is an island” I know that Im no better since I have done what Ive done and gotten to where I am as the result of many kind, caring and people much more intelligent than me.

Thank you!!!
