PostHeaderIcon StylesbyClaudia – PH and your hair

Hair Facts – When our PH is out of balance we can get yeast infections. With a balanced and healthy body these are kept in check. The same is true of your scalp. We need proper PH on our scalp also. Almost every major scalp issue from dandruff, flaking, itching scalp, scalp psoriasis, scalp eczema and others are caused by a fungus that grows on the scalp. Many of today’s shampoos are high PH which contributes to these problems. Look carefully at what shampoo you use, they’re not all the same.

PostHeaderIcon Keratin Express review

Well ok. I’ve had several massages and emails about the new Keratin Express that I tested a bout 3 weeks ago. I wanted to wait to see how it did on my daughter’s hair before I said anything. Unfortunately it did not work the way I was told it would. Now it did increase the shine, strength and also did a good job of conditioning the hair but did not perform like the stronger Keratin treatments.

If you have really curly or spiral hair this is not for you but for those with wavy to moderately curly hair then this does a nice job. Also if you’re thinking about doing a strong Keratin treatment but are unsure how its going to look on you then this might be a great way of “dipping your feet in the water.” It’s priced right at about $45 and only takes about 20 min in the chair if your having a hair cut or single process color done. But, to those that messaged me and were hoping this would be something great…sorry not yet.

PostHeaderIcon Sojourn product line from Elan Sassoon

Hi everyone,

Just got back from a class on the new hair line Sojourn from from Elan Sassoon (son of Vidal Sassoon) This line is simply amazing and its something this industry has needed for a long time!

The Sojourn philosophy is centered around maintaining your hair’s natural PH level of 4.5 – 5.5. The Sojourn line is a collaboration of Elan Sassoon, Bumble&Bumble founder Michael Gordon, hairstylist Milissa Stone and chemist Rob Guimond.

It was an eye opening and humbling class. The chemist Rob Guimond went into great detail about many of the lies we, as stylists, have been told from the large manufactures, about the products we use and what they do to the hair. Lies about sulfate free, keratin, alcohol in products and many more.

From what I see Sojourn has the knowledge, influence and money behind them to expose large manufacturers and to educate salons and stylists in order to get back to the way this industry was meant to be and that’s giving our clients what they really need and not just selling them products they don’t!
